The Minister of Justice (Kim Kyunghan) awards appointment letters to representatives from private organizations which were designated as 'support centers for overseas compatriots' staying' at 11 a.m. on July 25(Fri.) at the minister's office
The organizations which were appointed as 'support centers for overseas compatriots' are four organizations of Korea China Sarang Church, Korea China Exchange Association, the Guihan Dongpo General Assembly and Ansan Chosunjock Church.
The Ministry of Justice has executed 'the invitation and employment system 'that allows compatriots living in China and the former Soviet Union to visit freely their homeland, Korea and be employed since March, 2007 but it was true that systematic support to compatriots who entered the country was insufficient. Especially, the compatriots who have no relatives or connection have much trouble to adapt themselves to life in the country.
The organizations which were designated as 'support centers for overseas compatriots' this time systematically support by providing them with life information including employment¡¤residence¡¤medical treatment and guiding the system related to immigration control so that they can be adapted to life in the country.
The Ministry of Justice is planning to actively support the activities of the centers by conducting regular education for counselors of as 'support centers for overseas compatriots' and by building closer cooperation systems through setting up a cooperative committee between private organizations and the government and enterprises.
